Privacy Policy
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. Last updated: July 19, 2026.
This privacy policy explains what information FakeImageDetector.com ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and image analysis tools, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed the service so that using it requires no account and as little personal information as possible.
Uploaded images
Images you submit for scanning are processed entirely in memory and are never written to disk or stored on our servers. Your image exists only for the duration of your scan request: once the result has been generated, it is discarded. We do not keep copies of uploaded images, share them with anyone, or use them for any other purpose, including model training.
Information you give us
Using the scanner requires no registration and no personal details. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and provide support, and we do not add it to marketing lists.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers and third-party services collect standard technical data when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you view, and the time of your visit. We use this data in aggregate to keep the site secure, diagnose problems, and understand how the site is used.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small number of technologies that store data in your browser:
- Theme preference. Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
- Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to help us measure site usage (see below).
- Advertising cookies. Google AdSense may set cookies to serve and measure ads (see below).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The scanner works normally with cookies disabled.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular and how people find us. The data we see is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
The site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and its use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to show personalised ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com.
How we use information
- To operate the image analysis service and return your results.
- To respond to enquiries and provide support.
- To monitor, secure, and improve the website.
- To display and measure advertising that keeps the service free.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers described above (analytics and advertising), and we may disclose information if required to do so by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of the service and its users.
Data retention
Uploaded images are never retained. Correspondence you send us is kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for reasonable record keeping, after which it is deleted.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, applies modern browser security headers, and processes images in memory rather than storing them. No method of transmission or processing is completely secure, but minimising what we collect and store is the strongest protection we can offer.
Children's privacy
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we store almost nothing, such requests are usually simple: email us at contact@fakeimagedetector.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.
Third-party links
Our pages and articles may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
